I've never bet before. Where do I start?
Read the New to betting? page. It takes five minutes.
Then open an account at a sportsbook that is legal in your state (DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM are common ones).
We don't take bets or hold your money. We tell you what to bet, and you place it yourself.
Where do your picks come from?
We watch how coaches actually use their players, we read the injury and team news, and we look at the weather and the matchup.
Then we check the price, and we pass when it is not right.
These are opinions, not guarantees. Each pick has a one-line reason, and every result is on the record page.
How much should I bet?
Use units. One unit is 1% of your betting budget. Each pick says how many units
to bet, like 0.25 or 0.75, with a dollar example. With a $1,000 budget a unit is $10, so 0.25 units is $2.50. Never bet more than the size shown.
What does a price like -110 or +450 mean?
It is what a winning bet pays. At -110 you win about 91 cents for every $1 you bet, so a $10 bet wins $9.09.
At +450 you win $4.50 for every $1, so a $10 bet wins $45. Either way you also get your bet back (free "bonus bets" from sign-up offers don't: they pay only the winnings).
Sportsbooks often write the same thing as "risk $110 to win $100" or "risk $100 to win $450".
That is separate from how much we tell you to bet: bet size is in units (see the question above). Type your bet size in the wager (or risk) box, not in "To win".
What if my sportsbook shows a different price or number?
Prices and numbers move. Every pick gives the number and the price to hold to, like
"Only bet it if your book still shows Under 42.5 at -108 or better." If your sportsbook shows a worse number or a worse price than that, skip the play.
If it is better, even better, but only before kickoff: once a game starts, its lines are different bets. Skipping costs nothing.
Can I combine the plays into a parlay?
No. Place each play as its own single bet at the size shown. A parlay ties bets together so that one loss sinks the whole thing,
and it is a different bet from the one we graded. Some apps offer to add your pick to a parlay as soon as you add a second one. Decline that.
What is an "over" or an "under"?
A total is the sportsbook's guess at how many points both teams will score together.
"Under 42.5" wins if the game ends with 42 points or fewer. "Over 42.5" wins with 43 or more. The .5 means it can never land exactly on the number.
Which sportsbooks do you check, and do I need all of them?
We check DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, BetRivers and Hard Rock
right before a card goes out. Each pick names the book and the price we saw, and points to a better price elsewhere when there is one.
You don't need an account at every one. But the fewer accounts you have, the more often your price will be worse than ours, and a second or third account
helps you get the price.
When do picks come out?
The main card goes up on Thursday. On game days we text an alert when news changes a bet, like a starter being ruled out.
The Monday night card goes out Monday afternoon, when we have a play for that game.
Do you guarantee wins?
No, and no one honest can. What we do promise: every pick is posted before kickoff with the price we saw at that moment
(marked "not live-checked" if we could not check it), and every result is posted in public, wins and losses.
Does the profit on the record include what I pay for the subscription? Is it worth it?
No. The record shows betting results only. The subscription is a separate cost,
and at a small unit it is usually bigger than the profit. We usually risk between 2 and 6 units in a week. At a $10 unit that is roughly $20 to $60 of betting,
and even a strong return on that money averages only a few dollars a week over a season, which is about what the subscription costs, or less.
The picks make more sense if your betting budget is larger, or if you want them for the reasons behind each play.
Don't raise your unit just to cover the subscription. Decide with that in mind, and judge the record over a full season, not one week.
Can I see the record before I pay?
Yes. Every graded pick is on the record page, wins and losses.
Paid picks show up there after their game kicks off.
What is Winible?
Winible is the subscription service we use. You join, pay, renew and cancel there, and it is also where you find your cards
and alerts (by text, in the Winible app, and in a members-only Discord channel). We don't take bets or hold your betting money.
How do I cancel?
From your Winible account. Billing, renewals and cancellation run through Winible.
